Over the last couple of years, we have fallen into a nice routine of Saturdays being work days around the house. Sometimes we go to town and spend the day out, but more often than not, we spend the day getting some yard and housework done. The day is topped off with a supper of hot dogs and hamburgers (usually baked beans and macaroni and cheese or french fries or something yummy like that)--we eat in the living room while watching Gunsmoke.
Today, Michael did some hedge work in the front yard, and he and JM mowed quite a bit. We have had lots of rainy weather, so mowing has been quite the challenge. I managed to mop much of the house, and clean the boys' bathroom. AND, I must have washed 10 loads of laundry!
A successful day!
We are all pooped, but we talked a little bit about how work itself is a gift from God.
Genesis 2:15 tells us that God took the man and placed him in the Garden of Eden " to dress it and to keep it. " Work is a gift--there's nothing like the sense of accomplishment that comes from getting something done. We rarely if ever get everything done we set out to do, but I am learning to deal with that!
I hope you all have had a wonderful Saturday and that your week's work has brought you a sense of accomplishment.
